You will love the restaurants, shops, ice cream, arts and antiques, the Thursday night concerts in the park, as well as the beautiful beaches of Mears State Park. Travel just 20 minutes south to visit the beautiful Silver Lake Sand Dunes. The Mac Wood's dune ride is a blast! For a fun-filled day for the whole family the roller coasters and water park of Michigan's Adventure amusement park are just 40 minutes south. Ludington is just 15 minutes to the north where you can explore the beautiful public beaches, trails, state parks, as well as great downtown restaurants (House of Flavors is our favorite!) and the major shopping conveniences. It is a great lake for kayaking, paddle boarding, and swimming. Lake Michigan is less than one mile away, and you will have privileges to the township park on Lake Michigan less than two miles from our home. Pentwater is a popular tourist town less than 3 miles away with a State Park on Lake Michigan, and boat launches from Pentwater Lake that access Lake Michigan for great perch and salmon fishing. Big Bass Cabin is a newer cabin conveniently located between Lake Michigan and Bass Lake, near Pentwater, Michigan. The road is quiet, and there is a wonderful fire pit right out front - great for summer eves or relaxing, roasting marshmallows and making memories. You can walk to either Bass Lake (where we also have a dock for your boat), or you can walk one mile to the Lake Michigan beach, which has a huge shallow inlet and access to miles and miles of beach walking. Bass Lake is a 500-acre all-sports lake. We love the fact that there are two lakes literally right there. The cabin is a beautiful log cabin with the interior finished all in natural pine. The ceilings soar as the whole cabin (with exception of the two main level bedrooms and bathroom) are wide open up to the ceiling with ceiling fans. The kitchen is new and modern and includes a dishwasher, microwave, oven/range, full size refrigerator, coffee maker, pots and pans and everything you need to make your stay convenient. There is a large island that also has seating for five. The kitchen is open to the main living space that has a large sectional along with a large flatscreen television and access to the back deck. The back deck faces miles of natural forest and at night you literally can sit back and hear nothing but the sounds of the woods. The two bedrooms on the main floor feature queen beds. Both rooms are identical in size. They also each have a full-size closet to store your clothes. Each room contains a ceiling fan. The bathroom can be found at the end of the hall between the two bedrooms. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo and a beautiful custom vanity. The floor is tile. Also in the hall to the bedrooms and bathroom, you'll find a stacked washer and dryer. This is available to use during your stay. Through the main living area you'll see the custom-built log stairs that lead to a huge loft. The loft features a good size game table, two queen beds, and a fold out sofa sleeper. The sofa sleeper is located in the dormer area towards the front of the house, so it provides a nice play space and separate area for the kids. There is also another flat screen television up there. Great for when the parents and the kids need a little bit of space! In front of the home there's a place for the kids to play in the sand and there's a large deck area with a picnic table, a four-person table and chairs, and several other chairs for plenty of seating. This large cottage in Pentwater has a lot of character and family history. It has been in the Schwartz family for over 50 years and its is a very special place. Originally built as part of a girls summer camp in the 1930s, it is tucked into the woods with shared beach access. We are very close with our neighbors and the other cottages in the community so we ask all renters be respectful of noise levels and community rules. The cottage also has some family treasures, including a family height wall, that we ask all renters be respectful of and not disturb. We have recently redone the kitchen, bathrooms and screened in porch at the cottage. It has four bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed, there are two rooms with queens and one bunk room with three single beds and a double bed. The great room of the cottage has a ping pong table and a card table for games. We have a great screened in porch for summer dinners outside without having to deal with the bugs. There is also an outdoors shower for rinsing off after fun at the beach. The cottage is conveniently located just a few miles from downtown Pentwater.

Currently, our beach has been swallowed up by the near record high level of Lake Michigan. The stairs lead to a drop-off. There's no place to walk at the lake level. Like mine, beaches all over western Michigan have been covered or at least diminished over the last few years. There other beaches in the area. The bedrooms sleep eight. We can accommodate more if the couches are used or if guests bring air mattresses. One of the bathrooms is in the basement. Hot tub recently added as well as fire pit and swings overlooking the bluff.

This charming three bedroom Cape Cod style cottage is surrounded by Mears State Park woods and is located in the Village of Pentwater. Shopping, dining and beach is within walking distance, a great location! Saturday - Saturday week rental The Master bedroom with window air conditioner has a king size bed, guest room has a queen size bed, and the third bedroom has a bunk bed with a double bed and room air conditioner. There is a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room. There are two full baths with tub and shower. The large living room has a wood burning fireplace, free internet, cable TV, DVD player, and sofa bed. The screened porch is very private overlooking the state park dunes, forest and garden. The deck has a gas grill and dining table and chairs and is located off the dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal, blender, griddle and coffee maker. 4 bicycles, beach toys and a pull cart are in the garage for your use.

Our house is in the village of Pentwater, Mi in a very quiet neighborhood; located about 8 blocks from downtown and an additional 4 blocks to the beach. We rent weekly from Friday-Friday so that your weekend is not interrupted, though we also welcome 4 night stays as well.
